Your New Patient Dental Visit

At Mendelovitz DDS, we understand the importance of a comfortable and stress-free patient experience. We know that your teeth are vital to your self-confidence and overall well-being.

That’s why we prioritize making your first visit to our practice a foundation for an ongoing relationship based on trust and open communication. Our team values the importance of working collaboratively with our patients as partners in maintaining their smiles’ health and appearance.

Whether you require routine dental care, cosmetic treatments, or restorative procedures, we are committed to providing exceptional care tailored to your individual needs. Contact us today to schedule an appointment and experience the difference for yourself!

Step 1: Your Appointment

Upon arrival, our welcoming team will assist you with check-in procedures, verify insurance if applicable, and provide any necessary paperwork for new patients. To save time, you can complete the forms in your appointment confirmation email before arrival.

Afterward, a team member will accompany you to a treatment room, where they will review your dental and medical history as well as any dental concerns or issues. Our Dental Assistant will take X-rays to assess the condition of your teeth, jaw structure, and tooth positioning.

Step 2: Your Exam

During your first visit as a new patient, we will conduct a comprehensive exam lasting around one hour. This is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and understand your dental treatment goals.

After reviewing your dental and medical history and any concerns you may have, our Dental Assistant will take X-rays to assess the condition of your teeth and jaw structure. With the help of advanced technology, such as our intraoral camera, we can give you a 3D video tour of your teeth and discuss any necessary procedures or treatments.

Our experienced Dentist will review your exam’s findings and results with you, and provide recommendations for your personalized dental care plan. At Mendelovitz DDS, we strive to deliver individualized care and help you achieve optimal dental health.

Step 3: Your Hygiene Visit

As a new patient, your oral health team will assess your dental needs and determine whether cleaning is necessary during your first visit.

During your appointment, our dental hygienists will thoroughly examine your mouth and gums, including an oral cancer screening. If recommended, your hygienist will perform a cleaning using traditional hand tools or a water-powered instrument tailored to your needs.

After cleaning, your hygienist will provide helpful tips for maintaining good oral health and preventing gum disease. This appointment typically lasts around 45 minutes, and we’ll also give you a complimentary toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss to help keep your teeth clean and healthy between visits.

New Patient Forms

Mendelovitz DDS offers patients the convenience of filling out their forms online in preparation for their upcoming appointment. We strongly recommend completing the necessary paperwork ahead of time to ensure a prompt check-in for your appointment. If you are unable to complete the forms online, we kindly request that you arrive 15 minutes early for your appointment to allow ample time for in-office completion. Thank you.

The Mendelovitz DDS Dental Experience in Losa Angeles

Mendelovitz DDS is currently accepting new patients, and we are committed to scheduling appointments as soon as possible, often within a few weeks or even days. Your initial visit will include a comprehensive exam with one of our dentists, as well as any necessary X-rays. During your new patient appointment, you can discuss any specific concerns or issues with Dr. Mendelovitz or Dr. Baum. Our team strives to provide a comfortable and stress-free experience because we understand the significance of healthy teeth and a confident smile for your overall well-being.

During your initial visit, our dental team will perform a comprehensive examination, which includes an oral cancer screening, diagnostic radiographs, intraoral photos, and cavity detection. This examination provides us with the necessary information to accurately diagnose your oral health condition. Following the exam, we will discuss any recommendations and answer any questions you may have, ensuring open communication between our team and you.

Our dental hygienists may also perform a thorough general cleaning or start any recommended gum and periodontal disease treatment therapy. They will provide oral hygiene instructions and suggest ways for you to care for your teeth to maintain oral health.

Before your appointment, we recommend making a list of questions and concerns you may have about your oral health. If you have dental insurance, remember to bring your insurance card with you. If treatment is recommended, we will discuss all available options and benefits with you before proceeding, working within your budget to provide you with affordable care.

Our goal is to work together with you to achieve a common goal: keeping your teeth, gums, and jaw joints healthy while giving you a beautiful smile.

Dental insurance covers some of your dental care costs, but not all. Most plans provide coverage for preventive care and apply a deductible and co-insurance for routine dental procedures, which are payable at the time of service.

At our practice, we accept most insurance programs and aim to help our patients maximize their dental insurance coverage by choosing the best option for their needs. We are providers for:

  • Aetna
  • Delta Dental
  • Cigna
  • Guardian
  • United Concordia

If we are out-of-network for your insurance, we will assist you in filing a claim, but you will be responsible for paying the difference between the insurance benefit and the procedure’s cost. Payment is typically due at the time of service unless prior arrangements have been made.

Please don’t hesitate to contact our office at 310.208.1161 if you have any questions regarding your insurance coverage. We are here to help.
